Jewelry Blog
I am trying to get a blog going here that is accessible from the home page.
Let's see if I can finally get things right this time.
A blog format will probably work better as I intend to make many posts and records over time and I don't want to have an excessive number of menus and buttons to manage.
Here goes.
Handcrafted Sterling Silver Sea Turtle Jewelry
posted on 01/27/2008 8:47 PM
I remembered bookmarking this page on sterling silver sea turtle jewelry handcrafted and hunted for it.
I bought a sterling silver sea turtle pendant from a shop and wanted to compare with what is available on the net.
Quite silly, isn't it? Make comparisons after the item is bought.
It was an impulse buy. I found the turtle pendant quite cute and just wanted it. It wasn't expensive so it's ok. But since I find myself liking it so much, I would like to pick one from a variety of sources the next time I purchase a piece of turtle jewelry.
I think sea turtles are adorable. That notion is affirmed when I looked at the photograph of the baby sea turtle. It reminds me of the terrapins I used to keep when I was much younger, only cuter.
One source of my choices will be from this site on sterling silver sea turtle jewelry handcrafted.

I found myself drawn towards jewelry about animals lately.
One thing I'm doing is to to collect a series of animal charms and I will take turn hooking them onto my charm bracelet.
This animal charm collection is still small but the effect is showing. What joy to have some of my favourite animals dangling and swinging around my wrist.
One of my favourite animal that is rather unconventional is the hippo. Many people probably don't agree with me but I find hippos really cute.
Hippo charms are not easy to find but I manage to find one here.
This one looks kind of fierce with its mouth gaping wide or it could be letting out a big yawn.

Pearl Earrings to Match Necklace
posted on 01/15/2008 3:46 PM
I have a pearl necklace that I am looking for a pair of earrings to form a set with it.
I have been putting it off for sometime but almost every time I put it on, I feel it. It's either worn without earrings or with a pair that does not match too well.
The necklace design is rather simple so I'm looking for a pair of pearl earrings that comes in a simple design too.
This one looks quite good except that it comes in 14kt yellow gold and my necklace is silver.
What fits is that it is cultured freshwater pearl, same as my necklace and the color and size of the pearls are very close to those on my necklace.

My brother likes to dress up macho from time to time. Many guys do that but Derrick's idea of macho wear is probably a little different and seems dated to me.
Instead of street wear he likes cowboy style accessories. He doesn't overdo it, thank God, or he will look so out of place. I wonder where he got his influence from?
Came across this accessory that fits his style.
It's a sterling silver bracelet with antique finish. There is a black and white running horse on it that looks outstanding.
The gold-filled star accents add to the feel too.
The price is probably more than what I will like to pay for but thought I'll make a note of it. Who knows, I may strike lottery.

Benjamin likes eagles.
Not that he keeps one but I'm sure he'll like to if he can. He took so many photographs of eagles at the bird park and I've seen Benjamin in so many eagle t-shirts, belts and accessories.
I have never done so yet but I would like to give him an eagle themed jewelry on his next birthday so I'm looking around.
So I'm making a note and post on this piece I have just come across.
It's a bracelet with small eagle heads linked up.
I was thinking about eagle jewelry with wings and claws but this one is pretty awesome too.
There is a good chance Benjamin will appreciate a gift like this.

A handmade kids jewelry ring like these would have made a better Christmas gift for Alicia.
Alicia is a ten year old girl who lives down the street. She is a sweet little kid and somehow has taken a liking towards me.
She will always greet and smile brightly towards me when we bump into each other.
It's the first time yet but I had included her among the people I have bought Christmas gifts for.
I picked out a kid ring for her but on hindsight, I am not too proud of my choice. This is what happens when you have a deadline for shopping.
Oh, the ring wasn't ugly, not at all. But it isn't anything special either.
If I did not have to rush, I would have loved to give Alicia a more personal gift like one of these handmade kids jewelry ring.

I wonder if wearing one of these burgundy sexy toe rings will make me look sexier?
I can imagine that wearing them will make me feel sexy.
A lot of it has got to do with the color burgundy. I have always looked upon burgundy as a sexy color. Well, in a subdued kind of way when compared to pink or red.
A more reserved form of sexiness is appealing to me. Perhaps it suggests there being more than is already revealed and that arouses curiosity and an element of mystery.
The other thing I wonder about is if it has anything to do with the color's association with red wine.
Red wine is sexy. Visually, how it tastes and the sensations it brings to our bodies.
Certainly is unique. I have not come across anywhere else, any burgundy sexy toe rings.

I find this silvery toering collection the most interesting among the handmade toe rings from this website.
Well, all the handmade toe rings are interesting as it's unusual to find toe rings that are handmade and what more toe rings with the band cuffs colored.
What is most interesting with the ones on this page is the color.
I have looked very hard at the color and it is very unusual. You can call it some sort of purple, quite close to that of lavender flowers and yet it has a soft silvery glow.
I guess that is why these jewelry designers call them silvery lavender toerings.
Purple is a color that is mysterious and stimulating. This particular shade of purple has these qualities plus a soft feminine feel. I find it rather attractive.
I would love to wear a handcrafted silvery toering.

Destiny is quite nuts about butterfly. You can easily tell from the different butterfly prints on the t-shirts she wears. And some of them are from me.
I'm looking out for jewelry with a butterfly theme and will consider if a butterfly jewelry is a good idea as Christmas gift for Destiny.
Will this be a good candidate?
I like marcasite on silver jewelry as the black against white contrast is outstanding and dramatic.
It's the kind of colour scheme I will go for from time to time.
However, as far as I recall, I have never seen Destiny favoring a black and white combo.
Black and white is not for anybody, so I have to be mindful.
Let's see if I can find something as nice with a splash of colour.

Am I an animal lover?
Sure I am.
Am I a jewelry lover?
That too.
My friends do know this much about me and that's why I get friends sharing their internet finds like this one.
It is a 3-Strand Adjustable Vintage Glass 6 Charm Dog Bracelet for animal lovers.
There are 6 dog related charms: bone; dog food bowl with bone; paw; dog; dog in kennel; can't make out the last one.
Dustin thought I will appreciate this and he sure is right. It's beautiful and cute like anything.
But at $349, it is out of my league.
Any of my friends reading this looking for a gift for me? (hint, hint)
That's why it's great to keep a blog like this one. I can click the link to admire the jewelry and recall my thoughts about the piece.
