Information for Owners
Fellow Owners and Hunters:
2008 Cedar Beam Owner’s Meeting
- Meeting was held Sep 27, 2008
- Old Business
o Still waiting for Sukows to sign easment paperwork.
o John has $800.00 from popol money.
- New Business
o Sukow will put gate at road entrance, we will make gates for shack entrances.
o The third weekend in Sept. will be for Reunion/Hunters/Owners meeting from now on.
o The meeting will be hosted by two families that will supply the meat, everyone will bring a dish to pass and their own drinks.
o The first hosts will be Sue and Linda for 2009, then Pam and Becky for 2010. We’ll take volunteers after that. Everyone can share what dish they are brining on the new website.
o Everyone agreed that money from easment should be used to bury junk from the old tractor shed, clear a shooting range, and build a new shed. John has some left over steel siding that he said could be used to build a 10X16 shed. We would like to save the little log cabin with Dylan’s help too.
o Dustin will make copies of keys for the new shack door.
This is a new thing I volunteered myself for! It’s just a little newsletter to keep the owners updated as to what is happening at the Cedar Beam. There seems to be a lack of communication between the hunters and the owners and we need to make sure everyone knows what’s going on. There was going to be a meeting on the 10th but by the time they got all the work done the guys were pretty tired and we all just pretty much updated ourselves! So I believe the talk of the next owners meeting is when there’s a hunters meeting, so keep an eye on the website, for this updated information. If you’re not there we will automatically vote you in for the crummy jobs! Just kidding ---not! If you forgot the website address here it is: http://pagebuildr.com/cedarbeam/Information-for-Owners This link will take you right to the owners page. Dustin has done a great job trying to keep us up to date!
Anyway, it’s all good things going on! Mothers Day weekend the guys started replacing the floor and ran into another problem the one wall was rotted out so they had to fix that first. They took everything out even the kitchen cupboards and we now have a lovely new hardwood floor! It isn’t the kind of hardwood you are probably imagining but its great for the shack! I believe there is talk of carpeting but I was on my 2nd beer and they may have been joking, I’m not sure on that, but it would probably keep it warmer in the winter. So if anyone knows of any cheap free carpeting let a hunter know! I believe the money for the supplies came out of the last time they all did pulp up there.
We also have a lovely new wood stove in the shack. The other one was rusting out I believe and had several issues so they have a newer one now that seemed to heat up the shack quite nicely while I was there! It looks better, takes up less room and the hunters think they will have to fire up less during the night. Dylan found the deal on that.
We also have a new door on the shack. The old one was rotting so it needed to be replaced. Its very nice!
Upcoming projects:
The Bunkrooms- There will be 15 single beds. Each set will be three high, but the bottom one will be closer to the ground so that the third one up won’t get nosebleeds! So the way I understand it it will be six single beds on each side and three in the middle for a total of 15 separate beds. I believe there was talk of getting rid of the mattresses and every guy brings up their own bunk roll and takes it home every time that way there’s less for the mice to chew on, and it’s real hard to find mattresses at rummage sales! see a drawing here - bunks
I will be putting this on the web site and if I’m wrong someone please correct me and set me straight! If any owners or hunters have complaints please email me and let me know at dgradtke@wi.rr.com no names will be used except for Joe. We will just say Joe is concerned about this or that and nobody needs to know who asked or why! Gary never comes near the computer and the girls have their own laptops so nobody but me will see the emails. I’ve just heard different things and think there is a big lack of communication and hopefully this will bridge that gap.
Any suggestions please let me know.
