| About: |
My creative background:
I doodled crude drawings all through my younger years until I eventually found myself soliciting my semi-marketable skills out as I became a young adult, many times working for free just to acquire experience as a freelance illustrator. I was even a newspaper comic strip artist for a local community paper for two years back in my early twenties.
In 1997, I applied and got accepted into a two-year, college classical/traditional animation program at NBCC Miramichi in the City of Miramichi, New Brunswick, where I graduated in December of 1998 with High Honours, was the sole recipient of the Principal's Honour Roll (akin to the Dean's List), and served as the graduating class' Valedictorian. I then went on to work as a creative and animation director for a local marketing firm that also had an animation division in Moncton, New Brunswick.
To add to my creative experience, I also became a published children's book illustrator (a book called, "WROOKEY- Chompitty Chomp Chewsday!"- By: Coach Pat Browne ISBN: 0-9733075-0-1), as well as becoming a published medical illustrator (works which are found in medical journals, surgeon's publications, etc., due to my understanding of anatomy).
My illustrative skills include visuals like storyboarding, concept art, character designs, background designs, corporate designs, etc...all areas of which I have proven skills and experience.
Also an aspiring children's book author, I have written three unpublished manuscripts that I will be sending to potential publishers. I'm still in the research phase of this venture. Along this same vein, I've written a comic book story that is also work in progress.
Additionally, I have also instructed organized drawing classes for youth and adults alike at an arts college in Saint John, New Brunswick, through my company called Young Leonardos (currently in hiatus).
Besides my drawing interests, photography and writing have been areas that I have been exploring with more zeal lately.
